The Meeting Professionals International Carolinas Chapter hosted their January meeting at Graylyn International Conference Center. Over 50 attendees from all over the state stayed overnight at Graylyn. Guests were treated to a Winston-Salem themed welcome that began with historical butler tours of the manor house, a new member mixer in the Grille Room, and various committee meetings and education sessions throughout the house.
The evening’s welcome reception, sponsored in part by Visit Winston-Salem, included a bar in the Persian card room and dinner stations in the living room. The Atlantis room was transformed into party central where guests enjoyed a Winston-Salem themed photo booth with ‘props’ donated by local businesses, beer in the Foothills Brewing Co & Fiddlin’ Fish Brewery themed ‘beer den,’ and a Graylyn themed trivia contest. Each guest received a souvenir flight glass to take home.Wake Forest University’s Demon Deacon, and Winston-Salem Dash’s Bolt made special appearances and mingled with the crowd
On Friday, Mary Tribble, Associate Vice President and Senior Advisor for Engagement Strategies at Wake Forest University, delivered the keynote education session titled “Refresh and Reboot: Meeting Constituents Where They Are to Create Lifelong Engagement.” The session was held in the Mews Conference Room with a ‘Simply Red’ themed break designed to surprise and delight attendees.
